Castle Howard Lakeside Holiday Park

Castle Howard Lakeside Holiday Park

Located: Campsites in York, North Yorkshire

Castle Howard Lakeside Holiday Park is a well-maintained campsite affording splendid views over the sparkling, shimmering Great Lake on the grounds of the magnificent historic Castle Howard. Pitch up by the lake and enjoy an instant de-stressing holiday from the complexities of everyday life as you sit back and soak in the peaceful waterside settings, paired with a backdrop of one of England’s grandest country estates. The site rests a mere 10-minute trot from Castle Howard and a 15-minute drive from the romantic crumbling Kirkham Abbey. Settle down for a tranquil stay that provides excellent back to basics camping for tent and touring vehicles. A mix of grass and hardstanding pitches with optional electric meters is well-spaced and offer ample room for stretching out. Seasonal pitches and caravans storage is also available if required. Facilities are clean and limited to the essentials, like a toilet block, hot showers, a pot washing area, drinking water points, a laundry room, and chemical disposal. Designated disabled-friendly features make it easy for guests of all abilities to soak in the spectacular scenery amid lush, quintessentially English countryside. With nearly 10 00 acres to explore, the Castle Howard Estate brims with snaking footpaths and peaceful bridleways. Well-behaved pets are most welcome to tag along. Camping At Castle Howard is a roomy pop-up campsite located a smooth 15-minute drive from the nearby market town of Malton, offering accommodation as implied in the name - presenting attendees at the Camping At Castle Howard Traction Engine Rally with a place to rest their head for the duration of the event. The site rests on the grounds of Castle Howard, an easy 35-minutes’ by car from the city of York, providing plenty to keep campers busy during the five-day rally. There are motorbikes, classic cars, tractors, steam engines; trade stands to potter around, vintage fairgrounds for the kids, crafts, and various food samples. The entrance cost to the Howard Traction Engine Rally is included in the charge for your stay at the site. There is no need to rumble across half of Yorkshire for your grub as plenty of catering outlets are sprinkled around the festivities. Furthermore, there is a licensed bar with a live band on Saturdays and Sundays, plus the freedom to fire up the grill on your pitch for alfresco sizzles and nibbles. Should you need a break from the rally, head into the spectacular Howardian Hills, an official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or rumble over to North York Moors National Park. Pets are welcome.
