Set up camp on the grounds of a 19th-century country house, and enjoy a holiday with a difference at Saltmarshe Touring Park, a spacious, friendly base located on the grounds of Saltmarshe Castle. The castle no longer stands on the premises and has not done so since 1895: however, guests can still see the remains of the outer walls, outbuildings, turrets and stables, which remain to this day. The kids will have heaps of fun, imagining they are swashbuckling explorers as they zip around and make friends with fellow adventurers. The relaxing woodland settings are guaranteed to soothe the senses and melt away the stress and complexities of modern life. Local amenities are available in the bustling market town of Bromyard, as well as numerous ancient towns and villages like Hereford, Worcester, Gloucester and Leominster. Rumble into the Borders region of Wales and spend a day pottering around the famed black and white villages. The 40-mile long Black and White Village Trail is perfect for energetic sorts and can be explored on a bike saddle or in a car. When you’ve had your fill of adventures, head back to base and stretch out on this sprawling 67-acre base as you fire up the grill and get ready for alfresco eats under the stars. A club complex holds a licenced lounge bar, a games room, evening entertainment, a restaurant, a bar and a well-stocked shop. Pets are welcome.
