If you’re keen to enjoy a stress-free holiday filled with an abundance of wildlife and jaw-dropping scenery, pack your bags and make your way to Whitney Bridge, a spacious riverside site named after a centuries-old wooden bridge, viewable from the park. The riverside site is an excellent spot for those who enjoy water-based activities, especially canoeing and fishing. You can hire canoes from the campsite or try your hand at angling salmon from the gleaming River Wye; Whitney Bridge has fishing rights to both sides of the river. Nature lovers can lounge around on the riverbanks, preferably with a cold bevvy in hand, and observe an abundance of local wildlife. Watch as kingfishers swoop down from the branches, otters have a nose around the banks, and salmon leap out of the sparkling waters. There is space for an estimated twelve tents to pitch up right on the banks of the Wye and enjoy the scenic surroundings. Fall asleep to the soothing sounds of running water paired with clear night skies, and awaken to the trills of birdsong. Watch as the last wisps of morning mist curl over the tranquil lake, and settle in for a day of adventures or lazing – the choice is yours. Alfresco sizzles and sundown sing-alongs are more than welcome, courtesy of the barbeque grill and fire pit. Pets most welcome.
