Orchard Stables is an adults-only touring site set within a 23-acre equestrian centre just north of Newark, close to the A1 and on the outskirts of the historic village of Collingham. It offers a peaceful countryside stay while keeping village shops, places to eat and transport links within walking distance.

Grass and enhanced pitches are available. Every enhanced pitch includes an electric hook-up and its own drinking-water connection. The site stands on level, free-draining sandy ground, helping pitches remain practical in wetter weather.

Collingham has a wide range of useful amenities, including two pubs, cafés, a local shop, pharmacy, butcher, fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway. Guests can enjoy a meal or breakfast in the village, pick up supplies and then return to the site to relax and watch the horses going about their day.

Walkers and cyclists have plenty to explore directly from the site. Footpaths and bridleways cross the surrounding countryside and lead towards nature reserves and bird sanctuaries. Orchard Stables also provides direct access to National Cycle Route 64, making it a convenient base for cycling trips. Fishing is available on the River Trent, which can be reached by a short drive or a longer walk.

The wider area offers castles, cathedrals, National Trust properties, gardens and other cultural attractions. Closer to the campsite, visitors can watch local cricket, tennis and bowls taking place nearby.

Travelling without a car is straightforward, with both a bus stop and railway station in the village. Services provide access to Newark, Lincoln and Nottingham, allowing guests to leave their motorhome or vehicle on site while exploring further afield.

Facilities include a newly installed single shower and toilet, a washing-up area and an information hut stocked with local leaflets, menus and visitor information. Friends or relatives who do not own a caravan or motorhome can stay in the en-suite cabins at Wigwam Holidays Orchard Stables.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must remain on a lead. Dogs must never be allowed to approach the horses, and guests should not touch or feed any horse without the owner’s permission. The stable yard is strictly out of bounds.

Guests may occasionally notice wood smoke from the neighbouring glamping site when its hot tubs are first lit.

Quiet hours are from 10pm until 8am.
