Family-run, family-friendly, central and packed with intriguing animals are just some of the boxes ticked off at Lower Lacon Caravan Park, a cracking site for the whole family in Shropshire. This spacious, attractive site is perfect for history buffs, animal lovers, urban explorers, countryside ramblers and anyone looking for a comfortable, well-equipped camping base for escapes from the complexities of everyday life. Set on a World War II American army base ground, Lower Lacon rests an ideal mile from the nearby town of Wem and under 10-miles from historic Shrewsbury. The caravan park provides guests of all ages with a peaceful place to pitch or park up since first opening its doors in the early 1970s. Continuous improvements have made it one of the largest caravan and camping parks in the region. Campers can unwind on 52 manicured acres, with over 270 electric points, plus a mix of grass and hardstanding pitches that are ideal for both tents and touring vehicles. Glamping abodes are open for hire, and static caravan homes are available for both hire and purchase. Small sorts can meet and greet the troupe of animals on-site, including alpacas, pigs, chipmunks, pygmy goats, chickens and ducks. Traditional camping fun like campfires and alfresco sizzles are encouraged. Pets most welcome.
