The friendly team at Donnewell Farm extend a warm welcome to all adventuring souls in need of an ideal spot for a short stopover or an extended stay for travelling north or south of Durham. On the outskirts of the picturesque village of Sedgefield, the campsite rests on a peaceful working farm on the A68, affording easy access to Junction 60 and the A19. Sedgefield is a pretty village for a day or two of pottering around, holding a magnificent church, six pubs, and three coffee shops. The recently refurbished Hardwick Country Park is also within easy reach for relaxed strolls and coffee with the family. Active types can follow meandering, scenic cycling paths from Donnewell Farm, which happens to rest on the National Cycle Network. There is a farmers market every first Sunday of the month, a medieval fair in May, a thumping beer festival in July and more to keep guests of all ages entertained for hours. A handy bus route through the town heads out in all directions, including buzzing tourist-friendly spots like Newcastle, Durham, Dales, Hartlepool and Sunderland. The site welcomes touring vehicles and provides hardstanding electric connections and fully-serviced pitches. Well-behaved canines are most welcome but must remain on a lead at all times.
