Strid Wood Caravan Club Site is arguably one of the most scenic Caravan and Motorhome Club certificated sites, resting in a fertile meadow, enveloped by woodland and the stunning Yorkshire Dales. The site forms part of the Bolton Abbey Estate and holds some 75-miles of snaking footpaths meandering through wind-swept moors, woods and rolling farmland. The crumbling remains of the 12th-century Bolton Priory rest on a tranquil curve of the shimmering River Wharfe and is a must-see attraction, praised by the reputed Wordsworth and painted by the likes of Turner and Landseer. Strid Wood campsite also enjoys a central location, affording quick access to numerous attractions in the Dales, so go ahead and don walking shoes for days of adventure and sightseeing. The historic town of Skipton, with its cobbled streets and canal, is a short drive away, providing adventuring sorts with beautiful days out. The scenic Settle to Carlisle line, one of the most beautiful train journeys, begins in the town, and a well-preserved medieval fortress makes for an interesting explore with the kids. The site has 55 hardstanding plots, all with 16 amp electric connections and a TV point. Amenities include a toilet block, hot showers, a pot washing area, drinking water points, chemical disposal, and Wi-Fi access. Pets are most welcome.
