The Den At Husthwaite Gate is a small, family-run campsite nestled under the rolling Hambleton Hills, which form the western fringes of the stunning North York Moors, separated from the heather-clad landscape by the lush valley of the River Rye. The secluded and level campsite is well-sheltered, affording sweeping vistas of the local landscape. A peaceful footpath meanders to the nearby villages of Husthwaite and Coxwold, both positioned a short stroll from the campsite. Excellent gastropubs rest a mere 2-miles’ away, providing weary wanderers and campers searching for nibbles with quick access to delicious food made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Active types can amble into Husthwaite to access the multi-games area, complete with a tennis court, which is free of charge to use. Horse riders can clippety-clop along meandering bridleways from majestic steed from the nearby horse-riding centre, while mountain bikers can hire their rides from the biking enterprise nearby. A 10-minute car journey leads to the market towns of Easingwold and Thirsk. The cosy Den has sleeping space for up to 6 guests and rests on its site, with a private access lane, car parking, and a secure outside grassy area for lounging. There is a separate shower and toilet building, a covered barbeque area, and a wood-fired hot tub. Campfires are encouraged, and pets are welcome.
