Located directly below Winshields Crag on Hadrian's Wall rests Winshields Farm, a traditional campsite nestled on open fields amid beautiful countryside settings. The site is ideal for walkers, cyclists and the odd small campervan owner who wants to get away from it all. Get back to the basics at this peaceful site, spread out on two fields beside the famous wall, and enjoy the freedom to roam on the acres of quiet sheep sprinkled pasturelands and rural countryside around the farm. There is a spacious, well-maintained grassy field where tent campers are welcome to pitch a tent in a spot that tickles their fancy. The pitches are all non-electric, with a handful of designated hardstanding plots for campervan owners. Campervans are not permitted on the field as the ground is much too soft for driving. Standard facilities like a toilet block, hot showers, a pot washing area, drinking water points, and a laundry room are available. Settle in for days spend exploring the great outdoors, on peaceful walking and cycling excursions at a pace of choice. There is ample space for trips to the Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, plus long and short walks along the Hadrian's Wall Path and the Pennine Way. Well-behaved pets are welcome.
