Winter House Farm is a peaceful and spacious campsite welcoming tents and touring vehicles. The camping field rests at the rear of bed and breakfast on a sloping meadow, a reasonable distance from the nearest roads. The friendly owners are at hand to greet guests and ensure they are settled in well, transporting belongings in a tractor, even though the site is a short distance from the car park. Facilities on the premises are basic yet well-maintained and include a toilet block, hot showers, drinking water points. Walkers are ideally placed close to the Pennine Way and the local landmark of Earl Crag, which boasts stunning views from the top. A 10-minute stroll leads to the nearest village with a welcoming pub and a well-stocked shop for securing camping items you may have lost or forgotten. Well-behaved canines are welcome.
