Windermere Camping and Caravanning Club Site is a splendid environmentally friendly base tucked a few miles from the shimmering lake that shares the same name. The campsite is centrally sandwiched between Kendal and Windermere, affording quick access to both towns and numerous attractions in the naturally beautiful Lake District National Park. There are plenty of viewsome walking paths snaking through the mostly unspoiled landscape, so go ahead, don walking shoes and get acquainted with the area on foot. The village of Staveley nearby has a welcoming pub serving delicious meals, plus two cafes for sorting nibbles and hot drinks. For more meals and drinks, make your way to the 4-star rated pub restaurant, The Whistling Pig, or pop in at the eateries and shops in Kendal. The town is excellent for an afternoon out and offers the attractions like the Abbot Hall Art Gallery and Quaker Tapestry Museum. Windermere Camping and Caravanning Club Site has a seasonal opening from mid-March to mid-January and welcomes tents, small campervans, motorhomes and caravans. There are both grass and hardstanding plots with optional electric meters. Standard amenities like a toilet block, hot showers, pot washing area, drinking water points, laundry room, chemical disposal and Wi-Fi are available. The campsite also has designated wheelchair-friendly features. Dogs are welcome.
