New Ing Lodge is a quiet and welcoming campsite nuzzled between Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, on the grounds of a Grade II listed 18th-century farmhouse. The site rests in Shap, Cumbria, surrounded by the striking and peaceful scenery of the naturally beautiful Eden Valley, directly on Wainwright’s Coast to Coast route. Groups, couples and individuals are most welcome to tag along and enjoy an array of open-air pursuits ranging from swimming to mountain biking. Guests who want nothing more than to sit back and make the most of a well-deserved camping escape can unwind and soak in the stunning scenery amid this largely unspoiled part of the country. The site welcomes guests throughout the year and offers both bed and breakfast stays plus dorm accommodation from March to October. There are eight bed and breakfast rooms on the first and second floor of the building. Breakfasts occur between 7 am, and 9 am, and packed lunches are available if ordered the night before. There is a camping field with non-electric grass tents for tent campers only. Amenities are limited to the bare essentials and include a toilet block, hot showers, drinking water points, and a washing up area. Well-behaved pets are most welcome to tag along.
