The Quiet Site is an award-winning, eco-friendly campsite looking out over the shimmering lake of Ullswater, creating an ideal space for families and active types. The site also boasts the advantage of holding the best Lake District pub on the premises, ensuring nosh and well-deserved tipple pre or post-exertion. Despite the unusual name, the site is not much louder than your average site yet often puts off rambunctious crowds and big groups, ensuring a peaceful base for getting away from it all. The superbly maintained and extremely picturesque campsite offers quick access to numerous scenic strolls, several starting right outside the site. Families can fill their days with multiple activities and attractions, all located a short drive away. Guests are welcome to use the site as a base for exploring the north and south lakes by car and head out for adventures further afield on the M6, junction 40, located a mere 7-miles away. Amenities in the lively market town of Penrith are also located 7-miles from the campsite. The site boasts fantastic eco-credentials, including the UK’s first zero-waste campsite shop, using solar and renewable sources for energy. The excellent pub rests inside a 17th-century barn and holds a quintessential village pub interior, complete with low beams, open fires, and old whiskey barrels. Dogs are welcome.
