Gelderwood Country Park is a compact, adults-only site nestled between the River Naden and Cheeseden Brook, an ideal quarter mile from the pretty rural hamlet of Ashworth. The park contains 10-acres of manicured grounds that are a pleasure to view each morning, and a further 15-acres’ of mature woodland make for excellent strolls throughout the day. Guests are just 4-miles from Bury, which offers a range of local amenities, including open markets, shops, restaurants, and pubs. The town is also home to The East Lancashire Railway and rests just 9-miles from Manchester with its vast attractions, exhibition centres, theatres, and shops. Guests are welcome to use the centrally located site, just 3-miles from the J19 to Heywood on the M62, as a point for accessing Lancashire and Yorkshire or a convenient rest stop for long-distance adventurers. Gelderwood Country Park holds 35 touring pitches with optional electric meters for small campervans, motorhomes and caravans. Facilities are limited to the essentials, including toilets, hot showers, a washing up area, drinking water points, gas exchange and chemical disposal. Spend your days exploring the numerous attractions on offer, or opt to kick back and unwind on the scenic site with a cold drink in hand – the choice is entirely yours. Dogs are welcome.
