Bodiam Boating Station is the perfect base for exploring the lush ‘Garden of England’ and 1066 country while enjoying the delights of a lovely and affordable riverside campsite in the High Weald. Look forward to fun-filled days with the family, filled with open-air pursuits and a wealth of water-based antics ranging from canoeing and kayaking to boat hires and river cruises. The campsite rests on a level, 1-acre paddock in a peaceful and green rural area, which also happens to be a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within the High Weald. Sit back and let out a sigh of contentment as you survey the picturesque sceneries of the Kent countryside and the shimmering River Rother, curving its way from the High Weald to the 14th-century Bodiam Castle. There are 25 spacious plots, all generously spaced out with lovely open views for tents, small campervans, motorhomes, caravans, and trailer tents. The owners welcome families and well-behaved small groups and advise guests against late-night parties and disorderly behaviour to maintain the tranquillity on the premises. Guests can hop aboard cruises to Bodiam Castle and Rye from the campsite itself, along with private hires of rowboats and kayaks. Fish along this stretch of river to your heart’s content, and make a prior booking for a pleasant early evening of cream teas and wine in the scenic tea garden on-site. Campfires and barbeques are encouraged, and dogs are welcome.
