Walking enthusiasts are on an excellent base for accessing the 2.5-mile Elham Valley Way, which starts in Hythe and ends in the stunning Canterbury Cathedral. There are several hikes around the area of varying difficulty and several walks for all abilities. Take your time as you explore this majestic cathedral, which also happens to be the oldest cathedral in England, followed by the award-winning The Canterbury Tales in the city. Wander around the shops and galleries before sating your now growing appetite at one of Canterbury's restaurants or pubs. The nearby Howletts Zoo Park is great for ambling across its 90-acres and offers animal lovers the chance to see creatures like elephants, tigers, rhinos, and lions. Goldpark Leisure is an excellent base for extended escapes, and quick stopovers set an ideal 12-miles' from the Channel tunnel. Tents, touring vehicles, and pets are welcome.
