Palace Farm Camp Site is a compact yet friendly and peaceful traditional tent-only camping site nestled in the heart of the renowned Kent Downs, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are no more than 25 pitches, generously spaced out on a verdant and tranquil field, filled with the sights and sounds of nature and its thriving wildlife. The owners aim to create a quiet space for weary city dwellers, traditional camping enthusiasts, and adventuring sorts to kick back and unwind. Guests must respect the peace and quiet on-site; however, the resident green woodpeckers, little owls, pheasants, and chickens are fond of flouting the rules. Unlike more commercial sites, campers are welcome to partake in the thrills of outdoor camping, so feel free to huddle around a crackling campfire at sunset and settle in for an evening of stargazing, sing-alongs, and a round of scary stories. Firepits are available for hire at the reception, alongside locally produced logs, charcoal and kindling. There are non-electric grass plots and glamping units for hire. Facilities are limited to the basics and include a toilet block, showers with plenty of hot water, a pot washing area, and drinking water taps. Disabled-friendly amenities are available. Dogs are welcome but must remain on a lead at all times.
