Gorsey Meadow is a new campsite, set on the grounds of Hockering House, bordered by ageing oaks, manicured gardens and acres of parkland. The site enjoys a central location in the heart of Norfolk yet provides campers with a tranquil camping space with plenty of fresh countryside air for a relaxing, rejuvenating escape from modern life. The sounds and sightings of wildlife on the wonderfully secluded camping meadow is perfect for adults to escape the bustle of everyday life. In contrast, the young ones take some time away from the screens to enjoy space and nature in a secure environment. Keep an eye out for rabbits that often come to have a nose around the guests, pheasants, various birds serenading from the hedgerows, and tawny owls in the oak trees. A bug hotel is another feature that is certain to intrigue insect-loving campers, and shady, peaceful picnic spots in picturesque woodland glade are just the thing for a balmy afternoon. There are five bell tents and two newly constructed huts housing the compost loo and a hot eco shower. Each abode comes kitted out with air beds and bedding, vintage furniture, gas hobs, heaps of kitchen utensils and a barbeque for sizzles under the stars. Dogs are most welcome.
