Old Vicarage Campsite

If you believe that campfires are an integral part of camping, make your way to Old Vicarage Campsite, a no-frills tent campsite nestled in the Norfolk Broads, and earn encouraging smiles from owner Bernie as you kindle a fire. It’s rare to find a group of campers who aren’t huddled around a flickering campfire by 6 pm, so go ahead and use any excuse to get one going. Cheery owner Bernie believes that campfires calm and soothe the soul, and many traditional campers are only happy to agree. The campsite rests on a grassy acre on the fringes of the Norfolk Broads and holds a scattering of tents; some nuzzled near the hedges that peep out at the enclosing fields of wheat, others pitched in a more central area where the kids can scamper about with new-found friends. The camping field is flat, roomy, and car-free, ensuring happy days of grass stains, sticky marshmallow fingers and daisy chains in your hair. Apart from the tents, there is no much else to say about the Old Vicarage Campsite. Two wooden cabins hold the showers and composting toilets, plus a tap for drinking water. Step outside and discover enough to fill two holidays and more as you explore the coast, the Norfolk Broads, and Norwich, all located just 20-minutes away. Dogs welcome.
