Feather Down Farm Days Canfields Farm is the place you want to be if you’re hankering for a well-earned escape from modern life yet need to make a quick retreat back to the city and its bright lights after a quick weekend escape or a more extended holiday. The campsite rests on a beef farm sandwiched between the North and South Downs and serves as an excellent spot for family-friendly getaways within reach of England’s cosmopolitan capital. Hosts Tim and Sarah Bargman are happy to welcome you with open arms, provide pointers on the local area, and introduce you to their friendly herd of suckler cows, which are keen to have a nose around the new guests. There are plenty of animals to help feed and make friends with, including donkeys, sheep, lambs, and chickens. When you’ve had your fun on-site, turn your attention to the surrounding areas and uncover excellent walking, cycling, scenic towpaths strolls and relaxing canal boat trips. Mosey over to Furnace Lakes Fisheries for a spot of fishing or try racing at Glorious Goodwood and Ascot. Campsite cooking is a part of your camping experience here, yet there is a cheesemaker and farm café if the well-stocked camp kitchens don’t entice an afternoon of meal prep. Sorry, no pets are allowed.
