Escape to Downshay Farm, and you’ll find yourself feeling like you’ve taken a step back in time. A lovely steam locomotive chugs through the nearest station, making its way from Swanage to Norden, creating an entirely fitting way for arriving at this peaceful farm site. Take a short uphill walk through quiet, narrow country lanes with little to no sign of modern life, except during the peak summer months, and turn right into the peaceful farm, passing the old stone farmhouse to find the lush camping field behind a rustic gate. Set up camp, and plonk down with a cold drink of choice as you reward yourself with stunning, sprawling vistas, big skies, and a peaceful atmosphere that make one toy with the idea of moving out into a rural spot. The friendly owners live on-site in a large Victorian farmhouse and are keen to share their glorious campsite with like-minded guests. The historic Jurassic Coastline extends in one direction. Corfe Castle sits pretty in the opposite way, providing guests with stately views and the chance to marvel at the ancient castle, standing proud in the early morning mist. The site offers comfortable escapes on a 12 pitch lawn in the heart of the lovely Isle of Purbeck. Gorgeous glamping abodes are also available for glampers, and dogs on leads are most welcome
