It’s hard to imagine that the lovely grassed campsite of Bridge Farm was once deep underwater hundreds of years ago. The area is even rumoured to be the very spot that teenage Jesus arrived by boat with Joseph of Arimathea – a tale that inspired William Blake’s ‘Jerusalem’. Despite its murky beginning at the depths of an ancient ocean, Bridge Farm is presently one of the greenest and picturesque camping spaces in the area, boasting stunning views of Glastonbury Tor and effortless access to winding marked footpaths in the picturesque village of West Bradley. The owners welcome guests to enjoy a peaceful camping escape on this quiet and homely campsite, tucked away on a viewsome 600-acre farm. The simple, square camping field is protected from the elements by hedges on three sides, with access to spacious loos and showers, located a short stroll away through the neighbouring field. Young and inexperienced cyclists can pedal along the flat, quiet roads around the farm. At the same time, the seasoned cyclers access the National Byway Loop, pedalling along a circuit passing through Glastonbury and Wells. Alternately, make your own routes taking in cider orchards and vineyards along the way. Kids can request to join at milking time, and adults are welcome to enjoy barbeques and small fires as long as they remain off the ground. Dogs are welcome.
