Kintra Farm is the perfect place to camp under canvas if you want nothing more than to set up camp next to the beach and enjoy the sceneries and sounds of a stunning, natural camping area. The beautiful campsite rests within a working farm that boasts of a beachfront with lovely grassy dunes. The campsite itself lies within a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The owners Margaret Anne and Hamish Mactaggart do not take reservations owing to the spacious camping area that affords heaps of space. Facilities on-site are simple yet entirely sufficient for your stay, including a toilet block, showers, hot and cold water, a washing up area, laundry, and a reading library. The site does away with the commercial feel of camping and does not offer conveniences like electric hook-ups and chemical disposal. Dogs are more than welcome to stay at the site but must remain on a lead at all times. The site is an excellent area for birdwatchers that can spot geese, rare chough, golden eagles, and swallows. Wildlife includes feral goats and playful otters. Enjoy the golden sunset as you wrap up and huddle around a fire. The local butcher’s stock game, Islay beef and game for delicious al fresco meals. Fall asleep to the gentle lapping of waves as a campfire crackles beside your pitch and a twinkling night sky sparkles above.
