Chalmersquoy Campsite is a family-friendly site set on the Queen of Isles – Westray, Orkney. Operated by cheery owners Michael and Teenie Harcus, the campsite once served as a working farm but now focuses entirely on proving adventurers with a clean, spacious, affordable place to set up camp and fall in love with the scenic surrounds. The camping field remains sheltered by earth banks and rests in two paddocks to the rear of the original farm. There are grass and hardstanding plots with and without electric hookups, so feel free to rumble in for nights of camping under canvas, or adventuring in a recreational vehicle. There is a large storage area making the site an ideal spot for those who want to stow away surfboards, kayaks, bikes, motorbikes and more. Communal facilities are well-maintained and include toilets, hot showers, pot washing area, laundry, drinking water, chemical disposal and recycling conveniences. Kitchen facilities including a fridge/freezer ensure guests have a place to whip up meals should the weather turn foul. Wi-Fi access is available throughout the park enabling campers to stay in touch with the outside world and investigate the best local attractions. Chalmersquoy Campsite is pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your cooped-up canine for a well-deserved break.
