You’ll forget how close you are to the buzzing centre of Forfar, amid the scenic parkland Lochside Caravan Park. The award-winning site, as the name suggests, rests on the banks of a gleaming Carlingwark Loch that winds its way through the Forfar Loch Country Park. The park is a perfect environment for an outdoor adventure, offering campers a wealth of dog walking, strolling, and cycling opportunities. Serious walkers can tackle a walk around the entire loch. Wake up to views of the glittering, mist-clad loch with a backdrop of looming mountains, and savour tranquillity sporadically marred by gentle birdsong. Be sure to keep an eye out for cautious otters and seals who often come swimming by the campsite. The site accommodates a hundred and eight caravan pitches, offering a blend of grass and hardstanding pitches. There is a separate area for tent campers. Look forward to a host of helpful camping conveniences like a dishwashing area, motorhome service point, a toilet block, laundry amenities, a drive over waste disposal for motorhomes, and a family washroom. There are provisions for disabled adventurers and a disabled shower room as well. Fur babies are welcome at the site. The town of Castle Douglas is an easy five-minute walk from the campsite and holds a large selection of eateries, pubs, and shops as well as local leisure facilities ranging from tennis courts to swimming pools.
