Allanfauld Farm

The family-run Allanfauld Farm rests on a lovely working farm providing weary wanderers with a spacious, well-equipped site for stopovers and long holidays. Run by the MacGregor family, the working beef and sheep farm holds a relaxing and homely feel that helps guests unwind and shake off the stress of everyday life. Wake up to glorious sunrises, crisp countryside air from your ideal position at the base of the Kilsyth hills. Kick-off the day with a hearty homemade breakfast as you plan your itinerary for the day. Head out for urban escapes in places like Glasgow (12 miles away), Stirling (12 miles away), and Edinburgh which is a smooth 40 miles from the base. If you prefer to leave your vehicle behind, the Croy train station is a short five-minute drive away. The Forth and Clyde Canal is nearby and presents guests with excellent walks and shady nooks for peaceful picnics. Alternatively, feel free to relax at the campsite with a chilled glass of wine in hand. Sprawl out on a blanket and dive into holiday reading, occasionally looking up to soak in the countryside views. There is a cosy three-bedroom farmhouse, with a private bathroom and sleeping space for four. A self-contained wooden house set in a lovely garden is also available for hire on bed and breakfast or self-catering basis.
