Tan Aeldroch Farm is a tranquil sheep farm spread out over a generous forty-two acres, enclosed by lovely woodlands and a sparkling river. This hidden gem rests amid pristine landscapes that serve as a Nature Reserve, and the farm is carefully tended to by the owners who aim to restore the area to its former natural glory. The site is as close as it gets to wild camping and offers the bare essentials for camping like a toilet block and water hook-up points for tourers. If you don’t mind sharing a sizeable riverside meadow with free-roaming sheep (who are happy to have a nose at your pitch), set up camp, and settle in for a fantastic stay. The kids will have hours of fun exploring secluded spots, climbing trees, scrambling over rocks, and enjoying refreshing dips in the river nearby. For bites and bevvies, take a stroll or a short five-minute drive into the picturesque village of Dolwyddelan. If you are arriving without a car, the train stops in the village, and a taxi can transport you to the campsite. Head back to base and get a campfire going in one of the designated fire pits and enjoy huddling around the flickering flames on a chilly evening.
