Cowpots Camping is a hidden gem, and a stay here will have you heaping praise on Martin, the affable owner who continues to improve his camping space for the betterment of his guests. The main camping field sits on eleven lush acres and holds just ten pitches. Campers are spaced so far apart; they may as well have individual postcodes. Martin has added composting loos, showers with hot water and a washing-up area on each plot, ensuring unrivalled comfort and the freedom from having to stand in queues or deal with what other campers have left behind. There is a mowed area with a pair of goalposts and a massive fallen oak on which the adventuresome sorts can scramble and make fun. The meadows are sprinkled with wildflowers, and a wealth of local wildlife provides much to observe. Dogs are welcome.
